Wild Oregano Oil Protocol

in IBD Healing Methods

Wild Oregano Oil has been medically proven to kill Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis (MAP for short). Medical studies have also proven a very high percentage of people diagnosed with Crohn’s disease are infected with MAP, although the incidence varies the percentage has been as high as 92%. It is therefore beneficial to eradicate the pathogen to ensure you can effectively heal.

We would also like to point out there have been a number of studies that possibly indicate Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis (MAP) for a number of other conditions including IBS, Multiple Sclerosis, Arthritis, Diabetes and Autoimmune Diseases in general.

Wild Oregano Oil is a very powerful substance with many properties including:

It is therefore very effective at keeping colds, flu and other common infections at bay. Many people even take a dose before a flight to ensure they do not pick up any viruses while they are on board.

Important Notice, there are a number of things to ensure before you take the Wild Oregano Oil protocol:

This protocol is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women. Children under 5 are not advised to undergo the protocol either. Children under 12 years of age may need a lower dose, we recommend contacting a professional to advise dosage instruction in this instance.

A) Ensure you have great quality Oregano oil, this cannot be stressed enough. To ensure this follow the details below:

  • Obtain the correct species (Oreganum Vulgare) and subspecies (Hirtum is a good one).
  • It must be high in Carvacrol. Naturally-Occurring not just extra Carvacrol added during manufacturing. If you get a brand with the correct species and subspecies, this will not be a problem.
  • Low in Thymol – Check the levels do not exceed 5%. Thymol is a naturally occurring compound in Oregano Oil that must be present as it works with Carvacrol. Thymol and Carvacrol when combined are much more effective.

We recommend the following brand Joy of the Mountains – Wild Oregano Oil. It is Organic and meets all of the above criteria.

B) Do not take Wild Oregano Oil if you are taking a number of prescription drugs as this can be hard on your liver. Ideally it is recommended that you are on no prescription drugs at all while taking this protocol, however if you do decide to do the protocal while still on prescription drugs you can get blood tests to measure your liver function during the protocol, this will ensure safety.

C) Ensure you are taking probiotics, like antibiotics Wild Oregano Oil will kill the good and bad bacteria. You will need to repopulate your body with good probiotics. This is essential for healing and the protocol will not be as effective in your healing journey if you do not take probiotics. Remember all probiotics are not equal and you should see our probiotic information.

Wild Oregano Oil Protocol.

Phase 1
10 drops of Wild Oregano Oil 3 – 5 times a day, always on an empty stomach. It is advised that you take this dose until the infection is gone, this can take anywhere from two weeks to six months. MAP is difficult to detect in Humans and requires adequate testing, therefore if you can obtain a test to determine the level of infection this would be highly beneficial, although we understand this may be difficult for some. Therefore listen to your body and remember healing is a holistic thing, if you are addressing the other aspects of your condition you will notice and see results.

Natren Probiotics – Take all the following in powdered form: Megadophilus, Bifido Factor, Digesta-Lac. Take 1 teaspoon of each powder before bed, make sure you have an empty stomach (at least two hours after food). You add the powder to a small glass of room temperature water (not tap water!! – unless adequately filtered).

Phase 2
5 drops first thing in the morning, on an empty stomach for three months.

Natren Probiotics – Take all the following in powdered form: Megadophilus, Bifido Factor, Digesta-Lac. Take 1 teaspoon of each powder once in the afternoon and again before you go to bed. Again, always on an empty stomach (At least two hours after food). If you are able to and you intuitively feel it would be of benefit you can take the Natren probiotics up-to 3 times per day on this phase.

Phase 3 (Purely Probiotics)
Natren Probiotics – Take all the following in powdered form: Megadophilus, Bifido Factor, Digesta-Lac. Take 1 teaspoon of each powder 3 times per day on an empty stomach (Morning, Afternoon and before Bed).

The credit for this protocol must go to Jini Patel Thompson. We already recommend her book “Listen to your Gut” in our recommended reading section. The book provides a wealth of knowledge, tips and advice for people who have been diagnosed with Crohn’s, Colitis or IBS. Jini Patel Thompson also recommends a probiotic retention enema which can also be done with this protocol. If this is something that also interests you then please do check out her book.
